A closer look at TAG Heuer's novelties from Watches & Wonders 2024 where we are treated to a beast of a Monaco, a Carrera Skipper in gold, a terrifically good looking Carrera Chronograph and more versions of Carrera Date.

TAG Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph ref. CBW2182.FC8339
One of the highlights at TAG Heuer that shows their high knowledge within Haute Horlogerie d`Avant-Garde is the TAG Heuer Monaco Split-Seconds Chronograph.
I had incredible luck during the fair to get the chance to handle this special tribute watch since they only had two examples with them at the fair and they were locked into glass display cases. The brand's solid work and knowledge over the years with timekeeping has made their model TAG Heuer Monaco a hallmark for that and it is now celebrating its anniversary as a 55 year old. This is celebrated with a special and cool version of the Monaco named Split-Seconds Chronograph and it comes in two versions, one red and one blue. The watch is in titanium, the movement too, which makes the watch very light.

It has an automatic movement, calibre TH81-00 with split-second function which in French is called ”rattrapante” and means that it can show two separate times. The movement is their lightest chronograph movement ever and has been developed in collaboration with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier.
The watch's case size is 41 mm with a height of 15.2 mm and it has a very special dial where you to a certain extent see the movement. Indexes and the large hands are filled with Super-LumiNova and the rattranpante function is activated at 9 o'clock. It also has an open case back that shows their typical chessboard pattern that the movement has been decorated with. The rotor also has a colour detail in either blue or in red depending on which colour version of the watch it is.

The power reserve is 65 hours and the water resistance is down to 30 metres. It has a hand-stitched strap in calfskin with textile pattern and the folding clasp is also in titanium. A very cool and different Monaco model from TAG Heuer that really is candy for collectors.
Sales start June, price 1 500 000 kr.

TAG Heuer Carrera Skipper Chronograph ref. CBS2241.FN8023
The marine theme ran like a common thread through Watches and Wonders and TAG Heuer's version of this is a gorgeous Carrera Skipper Chronograph in rose gold. The watch has an automatic movement Heuer 02 (ref. TH20-06) an in-house movement that has a power reserve of 80 hours and it is water resistant to 100 m. The size is 39 mm with a height of 13.9 mm and the case is in rose gold.

The model's style has been much inspired by the historic Skipper watch from 1968 ref. 7754 which has a blue dial with two small sub-dials in another colour that show 12 hrs and the other, 15 min regatta divided into three = five minutes each. The original model was launched under the leadership of Jack Heuer to celebrate the victory of the New York Yacht Club's ”Intrepid” in the Americas Cup where the colour choices on the watch are taken from the boat's details.

The hands for minutes and hours are in rose gold, filled with white Super-LumiNova where the tip is lacquered in orange just as the third large hand also is and the model has an open case back. Along with that a good looking blue textile strap. Carrera Skipper Chronograph has a warm tone with its rose gold and an extra lovely style with its colours which makes this watch really something of its own.

TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph CBS2216.BA0041
A real treat among TAG Heuer's novelties is their Carrera Chronograph which has a very lovely and timeless style. Case in steel and the size is 39 mm with a height of 13.86 mm. The dial has a silver-coloured brushed sunray look.
The combination of silver-coloured dial, black details and red hands for the small sub-dials makes the whole thing harmoniously good looking and the fact that it is in the pleasant size 39 mm means that it suits most wrists. And besides, a watch with a Panda look is a safe bet which makes it timelessly gorgeous and which on top of that carries Heuer Carrera's fine history.

TAG Heuer Carrera Date WBN2350.BD0000 / WBN231C.BA0001 / WBN2351.BD0000
Finally we come to the more elegant watches where TAG Heuer continues its success with Carrera Date in size 36 mm, height 10.20 mm by launching three new versions.
The versions have an easy-to-wear style and do not stand out in any extreme colour but are above all elegant and therefore suit all sorts of outfits. One version has a dial in a warm copper tone with a brushed finish which makes it shift shade from brown to beige and the indexes, hands and logotype are in rose gold. The case is in steel with a bezel in gold as well as a bracelet with the centre link in gold and the outer ones in steel. A very elegant watch in a warm tone.

The second has a dial in mother of pearl with indexes, hands and logotype in rose gold with case in steel. Gorgeously enough this bezel is filled with beautiful diamonds which in number are 76 pcs.
The third version is bicolour, case in steel with bezel in rose gold and likewise the bracelet has the centre links in rose gold and the outer ones in steel. The dial is in mother of perl and is beautifully decorated with eleven diamonds as indexes. Hands and logotype are in rose gold and this one also has 76 diamonds on the bezel which makes it the most luxurious variant with the most diamonds and owing to it being in bicolour with gold and steel.

All the versions have the automatic movement calibre 7 which has a power reserve of 56 hours and is water resistant to 50 m. All show the date via a window at 6 o'clock.
