TAG Heuer Carrera Seafarer 2026 – tide complication and marine colours

With the Carrera Chronograph Seafarer, TAG Heuer revives one of its most characterful marine watches – complete with a tide indicator, vintage-inspired design and a new in-house movement. A watch that smells of both sailing romance and precision engineering. Several novelties from Tag Heuer were recently presented in connection with LVMH Watch Week 2026 and this is one of Eqotime's favourites.

A sailing classic in a modern guise

TAG Heuer lifts its gaze towards the horizon – literally – with this year's most characterful release: Carrera Chronograph Seafarer. The model takes its inspiration from Heuer's marine heritage – particularly the historic models that were developed in collaboration with Abercrombie & Fitch in the 1950s. What was once a tool for tidal calculations is now a stylish, functional and unique addition to the Carrera family.

The design: Champagne, turquoise and regatta codes

The dial is where this Carrera really stands out. It has a champagne-coloured opaline base, combined with accents in turquoise blue and yellow – colours taken from the 1949 Heuer Solunar, the world's first watch with a tide indicator.

• At 3 o'clock sits a 15-minute chronograph subdial with colour blocks inspired by regatta timing.
• At 9 o'clock we find the actual tide indicator, which is activated via a separate pusher on the left side of the case, marked ”TIDE”.
• Hours, minutes and seconds are complemented by a date display and chronograph, all integrated into a balanced three-register layout.

The movement: TH20-04 – a new in-house movement with wave power

At the heart of the Seafarer ticks TAG Heuer's new TH20-04 – a modified version of the proven TH20 movement. It is an automatic chronograph movement with a column wheel, vertical clutch and two-way winding, which gives smooth use and long durability.

The movement is visible through a sapphire crystal caseback, adorned with TAG Heuer's Victory Wreathemblem – a nod to luck, success and the competitive spirit of sailing.

The watch is built on TAG Heuer's Glassbox Carrera platform, with its characteristic domed sapphire crystal shape that runs all the way to the edge of the case – which improves legibility from every angle.

• Water resistance: 100 m

The chronograph pushers are classic ”pump pushers” while the TIDE pusher on the left side gives the case an extra functional edge. Two bracelets are included – a seven-link beads-of-rice steel bracelet and a textile strap with blue stitching for a more sporty feel.

On the wrist: For you who like character before compromise

The Carrera Seafarer is not a modest watch. With its colour choices, complications and 42 mm diameter it makes a clear statement – but it is well balanced and wearable, much thanks to the compact lugs and the flexible bracelet.
