Photo special: Reservoir at INDP Watches

The French watch manufacturer Reservoir is now available at the Swedish authorised retailer of independent watchmaking, INDP Watches. As usual we at Eqotime have taken a closer look at the brand and the watches. In our previous visits to INDP Watches we have looked closer at brands like Czapek, Armin Strom, Bovet and Arnold & Son – do not miss these if you are interested in independent watchmaking.

INDP Watches

The company was started to promote independent watchmaking in Sweden and the Nordics. In a newly built showroom on Karlavägen in Stockholm everything is offered from Czapek, Blaken, Arnold & Son, Bovet, Armin Strom, Angelus, GoS Watches, Reservoir and Franck Muller -watches, to art from Richard Orlinski. Behind INDP Watches stands a bunch of independent enthusiasts who want to raise the interest in independent watchmaking. INDP Watches is an authorised retailer for all the brands they sell, but can also be of help in questions about other brands from the independent world. Briefly about Reservoir

Reservoir is a young French brand with manufacturing in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. They have taken inspiration from different types of measuring instruments from above all the aviation and car industry and implemented this in their watches. What we find exciting about the brand is that they show the time in a, in our eyes, slightly fun way. In principle all (there are a few exceptions) watches from Reservoir show the time through a so-called jump hour-complication with retrograde minutes. In principle all watches are also equipped with a power reserve indicator in line with the respective collection, e.g. in the form of a car's fuel gauge.

The model range is divided into three base collections: car, aeronautic and marine. Common to all of them is that they are driven by the same calibre, which is an ETA 2824 that ticks at 28,800 bph and which is equipped with Reservoir's 124-component module for its jumping hour and retrograde minutes where the 37h long power reserve is indicated above 6 o'clock on the dial.

Longbridge

We start to untangle the models from the car-collection and first out is their model Longbridge. The watches measure 39mm in diameter and are made in 316L stainless steel. The crown is screwed down and the watch is water resistant down to 50m.

The watches' dials come in several colours (black, green and pink in the shop) and have nice differences in level that give them a lot of life. There are also two models in Reservoir's range that measure 41,5mm. If you are interested in the larger size you can contact INDP Watches to order it.

Supercharged Sport Red Zone

Supercharged Sport Red Zone is a limited edition of 250 watches. The case measures 43mm in diameter and the watch's black dial has markings at minute 55 and 60 that resemble a car's rev counter. The power reserve indicator is naturally inspired by the car's fuel tank.

The Swedish list price for Supercharged Sport Red Zone is 45,000kr.

GT Tour 371 SE

GT Tour 371 SE is also a limited edition, this time of the obvious choice of 371 examples. It measures like Supercharged Sport Red Zone 43mm in diameter but this time the steel case has been given a PVD treatment.

The dial is sandblasted and the text ”Minutes X10” is found above the window for the hours. Here too the dial is inspired by the rev counter from the racing cars' glory days between 1960-1990.

The Swedish list price for GT Tour 371 SE is 45,000kr.

Battlefield D-Day

Last out of the car-inspired watches that INDP Watches has in stock is Battlefield D-Day. This model is inspired by the all-terrain vehicles from the Second World War. Steel case of 43mm with gun-metal PVD coating, sandblasted khaki-coloured dial with the white star that is the American army's symbol.

The Swedish list price for this model is also 45,000kr.

Airfight Propeller

From the aeronautic-collection INDP Watches sells one model which is Airfight Propeller. As the name gives away the watch is inspired by the aviation industry and its cockpits.

43mm black PVD-treated case with an interesting dial that is ”cut out” and has differences in level.

The Swedish list price for the watch is 45,000kr.

Tiefenmesser

Tiefenmesser means depth gauge in German which is a practical name for the watches that are inspired by the marine. At INDP Watches there are two watches from this collection – Tiefenmesser and Tiefenmesser Sea Hornet.

The first mentioned of the two has a white dial in a steel case while the other has a black dial with yellow details in a PVD-treated steel case. Both watches measure 43mm in diameter.

The list price for each model is 45,000kr.

Sonomaster Chronograph

Last out is a model that is not categorised in any of the three base collections. Sonomaster Chronograph is a novelty from Reservoir that was presented earlier during 2022 and that offers a few more complications than the rest of the model range.

This model is inspired by the meters from analogue stereo amplifiers. It is also a bi-reotrgrade where the left subdial indicates seconds and the right one indicates the date. Below 12 o'clock is found the chronograph's 30-minute register and above 6 o'clock we have the register for the hours with a 12-hour scale. On the watch's crystal ring there is a tachymeter scale.

The silver-coloured dial has a circular brushed finish with black, contrasting cut-out parts for the watch's seconds hand and date.

The movement is RSV-Bi120 is based on La Joux-Perret's calibre LJP-L1C0 with automatic winding and column wheel. The power reserve amounts to 60h.

The Swedish list price for Sonomaster Chronograph is 63,250kr.
