Favourites from Kaplans watch auction on 2/10.

On the 2nd of October it is time for a watch auction at Kaplans Auktioner. The watch manager at Kaplans, Georgios Batselas has on Eqotime’s behalf picked out his personal favourites from the auction catalogue. In the catalogue we find 170 objects from several different manufacturers. The breadth is great and there are watches for most tastes whether you are after vintage or newer wristwatches. For the visitors at Eqotime Kaplans’ watch manager, Georgios Batselas, has as tradition dictates picked out five favourites from the catalogue.

Breitling

Georgios’ first choice is a Breitling Montbrillant 1461 Jours, ”Serie Speciale” with Cal 19 (ETA 2892 A2), ref no. A19030, from April 1998.

– This one is not bad at all. A Breitling Montbrillant with a 4 year calendar in steel/gold is not bad considering the functions for that price. You get a tritium dial from the late 1990s as well as the classic Navitimer design. A watch well worth keeping an eye on.

Lot 47: Breitling

Omega

The second choice is an Omega Seamaster Professional Planet Ocean, from August 2019. A fairly new watch and a substantial one with its 43,3 mm case.

– A quite new Omega Seamaster with their Master Chronometer movement, caliber 8900. I think it is good-looking and good value. In addition complete from 2019 with cert/box. Could be a bargain with its lovely colours.

Lot 118: Omega Planet Ocean

Cartier

The third choice from Georgios falls on a Cartier Santos 100 from approx. 2007. A beefier Cartier that stands out from the slightly neater classics.

– A classic Cartier Santos but in maximum size. Perfect for the stylish person who wants to wear a slightly bigger Cartier. Either way this is a classic and red-hot choice of from a brand that is really hot right now.

Lot 150: Cartier Santos

Bvlgari

The next watch out on the favourites list is a bit unexpected. Here Georgios brings up a Bvlgari Diagono from 2015.

– Good-looking and lovely Italian design for the one who wants to stand out. I like it a lot, a really fun watch that I am glad we have in the catalogue.

Lot 5: Bvlgari Diagono

Longines

Last out Georgios picks a Longines Heritage, Aviation Bigeye, from 2021.

– I think that Longines’ heritage department is doing a top job right now in getting good-looking watches with a lot of vintage feel. And here is one of their very best!

Lot 88: Longines
