Voutilainen x Leijona Heritage Collection
The Finnish watch brand Leijona was founded as far back as 1907 and vintage examples of watches with the characteristic logo of the lion carrying a shield turn up at regular intervals on enthusiast forums and at auctions. But the brand is still going strong and has released what it calls a Heritage Collection in collaboration with the well-known independent watchmaker Kari Voutilainen. Now in December they are completing the collection with the diver Försti Diver. Eqotime has taken a look.
The Finnish watch brand Leijona was founded as early as 1907 and vintage examples of watches with the characteristic logo featuring the lion bearing a shield turn up regularly on enthusiast forums and auctions. But the brand is still going strong and has released what they call a Heritage Collection in collaboration with the well-known independent watchmaker Kari Voutilainen. The collection signed Voutilainen x Leijona has up until now in December consisted of three models; the bicompax chronograph Uhro, the more classically designed Oiva Classic and the model with a 70's vibe, Jalo Sport. And now in December they are completing the collection with the diver's watch Försti Diver. Eqotime has taken a look.
Försti Diver is a really nice diver. The base version has a black dial, red and black bezel and a soft case in steel with sapphire crystal and screwed crown. It also comes with an extra one-colour, black, bezel. The size is a likeable 41mm and the watch comes on both a link bracelet and rubber strap. Inside spins an automatic movement from Selitta and the creation is water resistant to 20 ATM.
Besides the version in black and red, a limited variant is also coming with a galvanized (perhaps best described as white) dial, blue bezel and an extra two-coloured bezel. This one is limited to 50 pieces and is released together with the base version in nine Finnish watch shops with sales starting now in December. The price for both variants is set at 4490 euro.
