Three watches, three auctions
Eqotime's editors scout the watch auctions online continuously. For the patient there are always gems worth a closer look. Three watches, three auctions is exactly what it sounds like. We have gone through three auctions and picked out a few wristwatches we think are worth an extra look. This time the editors have found three real treats in the current auction offering at the most influential Swedish auction houses.
Eqotime's editorial team continuously scouts the watch auctions on the internet. For the patient there are always nuggets of gold that are worth checking out a little extra. Three watches, three auctions is exactly what it sounds like. We have looked through three auctions and picked out a few wristwatches that we think are worth taking an extra look at. The editorial team has this time found three real treats in the current auction offering at the most influential Swedish auction houses.
Panerai at Kaplans
The editorial team likes Panerai. We like it so much that we have made a few special episodes about Panerai in particular in Eqotime Podcast. You will find the episodes here and here.
Panerai are not super common at auctions in Sweden. Especially not if you compare with other big manufacturers like Breitling, Rolex, Omega. At Kaplans Klockauktion on the 2nd of October we find a fine example of a PAM359. The watch is a so-called ”Dirt dial” and complete with all accessories all the way out to the outer box. A watch well worth checking out. You will find the auction here.
Hublot at Bukowskis
Hublot has existed far longer than their 44mm Big Bang watches that were launched about 10 years ago. The market for Hublot has also calmed down a fair bit since then. And there are ever more opportunities to find fun examples for good money in relation to what you get. A bit into the 2000s Hublot made a series under the name Super B. These were automatic sports watches with ETA movements, chronographs on Hublot's characteristic rubber, but around a sound 40mm in size. At Bukowskis Market we find an example of the Hublot Super B from 2005. The lot appears to be in pretty good condition for its age. And the editorial team likes the whole with the white dial against stainless steel and the rubber strap.
The Hublot Super B 42mm is hammered at Bukowskis Market on 25/9 and you will find the auction here.
Rolex Daytona at Auktionsverket Malmö
At Auktionsverket Malmö, which is now owned by Auctionet, we find a Rolex Daytona 116523. This is far from a perfect example. But the lot looks to be in good condition and Daytonas in two-tone have become ever more popular lately. This particular one is moreover made in the year 2000. Which was the first year that Rolex used its then new in-house movement cal 4130. This instead instead of the Zenith movement that was used for the Daytona from 1988. The bracelet that is fitted is also made later than the watch. But on the whole we see a fine lot where the red Daytona text breaks up against the silver dial.
