Sprinkled delicacy from MB&F & Bvlgari – FlyingT Allegra
MB&F and Bvlgari have made common cause by creating a watch you could call especially precious eye candy with the best jewellery work and the best watchmaking. The result is FlyingT Allegra, an unexpectedly feminine creation. They have let their specialities blossom in an extraordinary watch model made in 20 + 20 pieces, 20 with a case in rose gold and 20 with a case in white gold. There is a slight difference in the choice of stones so that the different tones of the gold are matched in the best way. This special watch is a tribute to women and the T in FlyingT stands for Tiffany, which is the name of Max Büsser's wife. Eqotime's Britta Rossander has more.

MB&F and Bvlgari have joined forces by creating a watch that one could call extra precious eye candy with the best jewellery work and the best watchmaking. The result is FlyingT Allegra – an unexpectedly feminine creation. They have let their specialities blossom into an extraordinary watch model produced in 20 + 20 pieces, 20 with a case in rose gold and 20 with a case in white gold. There is a slight difference in the choice of stones so that the different tones of the gold are matched in the best way. This special watch is a tribute to woman, and the T in FlyingT, stands for Tiffany, which is the name of Max Büsser's wife. Eqotime's Britta Rossander tells more.

The idea of a collaboration came up already four years ago. It was then that the pleasant MB&F's Max Büsser met the equally pleasant and legendary creative director at Bvulgari, Fabrizio Buonamassa. The genius behind the design of the Octo Finissimo watch series and the rebirth of the Serpenti. Fabrizio said then that he admired MB&F's products. Two years later, during GPHG 2019, they met again. This time with Antoine Pin, head of Bvlgari's watch division. There and then the discussion about the possibilities of doing something together started. Büsser was surprised that a luxury brand like Bvlgari seriously wanted to collaborate with a small independent watchmaker like MB&F. But there and then something started ticking in both gentlemen. Büsser and Buonamassa began working on what resulted in the Legacy Machine FlyingT Allegra.
A collaboration between these gentlemen can of course only result in something fantastic. And no one seems to have set any limit on what the ”raw materials” were allowed to cost. The prices of the finished watches are thus high. Nearly 1,5 million kronor + tax.

Complex design
MB&F has worked on the volume and complexity, Bvlgari with the graphic aesthetics. The movement is built along a central axis that governs the design of the fully visible mechanism. The dial with hours and minutes leans against the diamond-set flying tourbillon and the balance at a 50-degree angle. This means that only the wearer can see what time it is. Through the sapphire crystal of the case back one can see the oscillating weight in gold shaped like a sun with sandblasted rays. This rotates on a disc of ruthenium, a hard silver-white metal belonging to the platinum metals.

For each watch, Bvlgari's jewellers have selected tourmalines, tsavorites, diamonds, rubellites, amethysts, tanzanites and topazes. These have been placed on a gold ring. Dial, plate and case ring are filled with diamonds. And at the traditional position at four o'clock there is an engraving that says MB&F x Bvlgari. The movement is in-house MB&F with 100-hour power reserve and water resistant to 30 meters. The case is available in either white gold or rose gold.
