Mission to the Moonphase – new MoonSwatch with Snoopy
It has been relatively quiet since the enormous success of the MoonSwatch that spread across the world. Blancpain X Swatch also became popular, but not to the same extent. Many have speculated about whether there will be a follow-up to the MoonSwatch or whether that was the end of the story.

It has been relatively quiet since the enormous success of the MoonSwatch that spread across the world. Blancpain X Swatch also became popular, but not to the same extent. Many have speculated about whether there will be a follow-up to the MoonSwatch or whether that was the end of the story. Now it is however official: two years after the MoonSwatch launch a new model is coming; a tribute to the full moon and NASA's legendary mascot, Snoopy, a tribute that offers charming details with the iconic figure.
The watch has a case in Bioceramic, just like earlier models and is a chronograph with a charming new twist: a moon phase function and this is where one of the Snoopy details comes in. On the right subdial the moon phase is shown with Snoopy lying on a moon. And the scale on the subdial shows a 29.5-day cycle, which corresponds to a full moon cycle. It is the first time Swatch combines a moon phase with a chronograph. When both Snoopy figures are seen in a vertical line it indicates a full moon.
The watch has a diameter of 42 mm and a height of 13.75 mm which is the same size as the earlier models. It is driven by a quartz movement and is water resistant up to 30 metres. Super-LumiNova is found on hands and indexes in a green shade. On the moon phase disc there is also a hidden quote from Snoopy, ”I Can’t sleep without a night light!”, which lights up under UV light, together with the moons and the stars. The back of the watch is also adorned with an image of the full moon as well as a small paw print from Snoopy.
For enthusiasts of moon watches and Snoopy this watch is really interesting. It is charming and modern, and it is fun with a completely white watch, particularly now that Omega has launched the Speedmaster Moonwatch with a white dial. And just like that one, it has good legibility thanks to the combination of a white dial with black hands. The watch also has an elegant tachymeter scale, with the iconic detail ”Dot over Ninety”. Everyone is now waiting eagerly to see it in reality and it will be interesting to see how the white stays fresh which we in the editorial team look forward to testing.
The new Omega Speedmaster has reference number 310.30.42.50.04.001 with steel bracelet and the price is 106 900 kr.
The watch is delivered with a white Velcro strap and is not limited but will however only be sold in their own selected boutiques, just as with earlier models. Launch is 26 March at a price of 3 350 kronor.
