Is lightning-fast acceleration combined with luxurious interior something that appeals and is prioritized first and foremost? But you don't want a Tesla. Then the new American electric car company Lucid Motors' first model might be something. Lucid Air does 0-100 km/h in just 2,5 seconds. Eqotime's Mia Litström has taken a look.

The pace of new electric car brands entering the market is not slowing down, quite the opposite. For a while now it has been dominated by Chinese electric car brands that have made their premiere on the market. But soon it's time for a Tesla challenger on the Swedish market. It is the American company Lucid that has CEO Peter Rawlinson at the top of the company and who previously worked for Tesla. The company doesn't sneak-start but goes all in with an extremely competitive model and has also built an entirely new factory in Arizona.

Their first model is called Lucid Air and the car has already been introduced on the American market. It is a large and spacious sedan in luxurious execution. And what stands out the most are the figures that make many gasp, you can hardly believe it's true. The power is at an incredible 1 111 hk and the total range is 83 mil. And it's no small sedan, it is almost five meters long with a well thought-out interior and modern technology that makes Lucid Air qualify as a luxury sedan. Perfect for the American market, but the question is what the interest will be in Sweden, the brand will be launched this year for the Swedish market.

But the price is also accordingly, around 1,65 million kronor and the model will among other things be introduced with an advanced technology called Lidar. It is a light radar technology that comes from Luminar Technologies for autonomous driving that Volvo will also introduce for its electric cars in the future. Going forward, a simpler version with a lower price will be launched. The battery capacity is 113 kWh and the fast-charging power is up to 300 kW.

The electric car segment has really picked up speed in the car market and new models are being introduced all the time but this particular one stands out a lot with its elegant sedan shape that is both long and low. This combined with amazing performance and technology means that it will immediately compete with Tesla and after that also with Audi GT and Porsche Taycan.
