It is that time of year again. Watches & Wonders 2025 is approaching, and as always Rolex is the big talking point. While enthusiasts around the world speculate about which models we can expect, leaked images and rumours have already started appearing. Among the most talked about rumours we find a Tiffany Blue Daytona, a green Sky-Dweller and perhaps the most controversial – an entirely new model series called Land-Dweller.

But how credible are these rumours? Is it insider information or just a well-planned smokescreen from Rolex themselves? We at Eqotime go through the latest leaks and analyse what could actually become reality. Considering Rolex's new teaser on social media it undeniably looks like a new model is going to be released.

Tiffany Blue Daytona – An obvious combination?
A Daytona with a Tiffany blue dial in yellow gold – that sounds like a winner on the second hand market, but is it a design bullseye? Considering how popular the Tiffany blue colour has been on the Oyster Perpetual series it is not entirely unlikely that Rolex wants to make use of the hype. But in combination with yellow gold? It feels like a combination that divides the camp – some love it, others cannot understand the point. We know that Rolex is strategic when it comes to its colour choices, and it is not impossible that they are testing the reactions before they make a final decision. Historically, negative reactions to leaked images have made Rolex scrap ideas before they reached production. Will the Tiffany Daytona be one of those?
Green Sky-Dweller – A logical development
If there is one leak we can actually believe in, it is the green Sky-Dweller. Rolex has had enormous success with green dials on models such as the Daytona, Day-Date and Datejust. Giving the Sky-Dweller the same treatment would be a natural step. Green and yellow gold also match perfectly – a combination that Rolex has already proven time and time again. Should a green Sky-Dweller be launched during Watches & Wonders, expect long waiting lists and a second hand market that explodes.
Rolex Land-Dweller – A new model?
The biggest surprise is the rumour of an entirely new Rolex series – the Land-Dweller. The name has turned up in patent applications, and according to the speculation the model is supposed to have an integrated bracelet, inspired by the old Oysterquartz watches. Besides the bracelet the Land-Dweller is said to resemble a Datejust a great deal, which could make it a logical complement in Rolex's range. But the question is – do we really need yet another Datejust-like model? Rolex has never been quick to introduce new model series, so if the Land-Dweller becomes reality, it is one of the biggest pieces of news in a long time. Is it this model we see in the new Rolex teaser.
GMT-Master II Sprite – Green dial
The GMT-Master II ”Sprite” has been a watershed since its launch. As a ”destro” model (left-handed crown) it is a Rolex that stands out, but it has never quite had the same impact as the ”Pepsi” or the ”Batman”. The latest rumour says that Rolex is planning to give the Sprite model a new green dial, which would be a smart move. With a black and green bezel a matching green dial would give the watch more character and balance. Is this a certain launch? Perhaps not, but it still feels considerably more likely than a Tiffany Daytona. The GMT is also celebrating 70 years in 2025, so it is highly likely that a new version of the model is coming.
If the editorial team gets to wish
GMT-Master II ”Coke” – The long-awaited return
One of the most talked about rumours is the reintroduction of the GMT-Master II with the iconic red-black bezel, known as the ”Coke”. After the successes with the ”Pepsi” and ”Batman” models, it is speculated that Rolex could now launch the ”Coke” in stainless steel or possibly in white gold. It would have been a welcome addition to the range.
Explorer 36 mm with a white dial – A new ”Polar” variant?
There is also a rumour that Rolex is planning to introduce an Explorer 36 mm with a white dial, which would be a novelty for this model. Such a ”Polar” Explorer could appeal to both new and existing enthusiasts of the series and an obvious favourite with us.

What can we expect?
Even though we love to speculate, we know that Rolex is always Rolex. They reveal nothing until they themselves want to, and sometimes they use leaks as trial balloons to measure the market's reactions.
Of the leaked models the green Sky-Dweller feels the most likely, closely followed by a GMT-Master II Sprite with a green dial. The Land-Dweller could become one of the year's biggest surprises. And the Tiffany Daytona? We hope it is just a photoshopped dream (or nightmare). What do you think? Is any of these models a dream watch or a disappointment? Discuss it with us on social media!
