Gold jump with an ultralight timer from Omega on the wrist
Armand Mondo Duplantis made the gold-winning jump at the Olympics with a Seamaster Aqua Terra “Ultra Light” on his wrist. The case is in Grade5 Titanium and inside it sits Omega's first movement in titanium, the hand-wound calibre 8928 Titanium with 72 hours of power reserve. The dial and case back have had their weight reduced as far as possible and the watch weighs only 55 grams including what Omega calls a ”sports strap”. The price is around the figures of that weight + four zeros.

Armand Mondo Duplantis made the gold jump at the Olympics with a Seamaster Aqua Terra “Ultra Light” on his wrist. The case is in Grade5 Titanium and in it sits Omega's first movement in titanium – the manual calibre 8928 Titanium with 72 hours of power reserve. Dial and case back have as reduced a weight as possible and the watch weighs only 55 grams including what Omega calls ”sports strap”. The price is around the figures of the weight + four zeros.
– It is a good and good-looking watch that is elegant, clean-lined and above all super light. I do check the time many times when I am going to jump and for me this one is perfect, says the Olympic medallist and world record holder.
In September last year, in connection with the outdoor competitions in Lausanne, he made a detour to Biel and Omega's head office. He told then that he was a fan of the brand long before he was contacted by them.
Mondo got a proper and well-guided tour of the house and of Meta's lab. He of course got to see the watchmakers in action and got to try screwing a bit himself.
Right after the visit he jumped 6,07 metres on a track in central Lausanne, a new outdoor personal best, and on the wrist sat for the first time the blue ”Ultra Light”.
