Art is life and life is art – Swatch releases the collection Mickey Mouse x Keith Haring

Fun wristwatches do not always have to mean expensive or hard-to-get vintage. And even if luxurious watches, mechanical craftsmanship and well-chosen vintage have their charm, the editorial team at Eqotime thinks that the simpler watches also have their place and charm. Swatch in particular is a manufacturer that is at the top when it comes to watches with a high fun factor. Now they are releasing a new collection in collaboration with Disney and the late artist Keith Haring, Mickey Mouse x Keith Haring. A fun collection well worth checking out.

Collaborations between Swatch and the artsit Keith Haring are nothing new. As early as the 80s several models were released adorned with art from the the popular artist. Perhaps the combination of the popular and accessible Swatch watches with Haring's accessible pop art is precisely a match made in heaven?

And now it is time again. Haring, who grew up with the Disney figure Mickey Mouse and the perky little mouse returned in several of his works. Or as Haring himself expressed it; “…My father made cartoons. Since I was little, I had been doing cartoons, creating characters and stories. In my mind, though, there was a separation between cartooning and being an ‘artist’…”

Now Swatch is releasing the collection Mickey Mouse X Keith Haring collection by Swatch. A collection where Haring's version of Mickey Mouse is at the centre. A fun addition to the Swatch family! The watches come in three versions: Mouse Mariniere, Mickey Blanc sur Noir and Eclectic Mickey. The price starts at a pleasant 960 SEK. A bargain for the one who wants a bit of good pop art on the wrist.
