OMEGA's Seamaster Diver 300M is an icon within diver's watches, and now we get two new variants in their exclusive alloy Bronze Gold. These are watches that on paper mix vintage feel with modern technology – but what are they like in reality? We at Eqotime have taken a closer look.

Straight away when you pick up the watch you notice that Bronze Gold is something special. The alloy, which consists of 37,5 % gold, together with palladium and silver, gives a warm tone that stands out compared with traditional bronze. It has a certain weight but without feeling clumsy. The interesting thing is that the material has been developed to minimise the typical green oxidation that is often seen on bronze watches, which means that it develops patina more slowly and keeps its lustre over time.

Both models have a 42 mm case in Bronze Gold and a bezel in anodised aluminium in a deep burgundy colour. On the wrist the watch feels stable and has a classic diver look, but with a pleasant colour combination that gives it a more sophisticated appearance.
The big difference between the two variants is the choice of bracelet. One model comes on a matching Bronze Gold mesh bracelet, which immediately gives vibes of 007's No Time to Die Seamaster, while the other is delivered on a black rubber strap with a Bronze Gold buckle. The mesh bracelet feels premium and gives a more coherent look, while the rubber strap is a comfortable and sportier alternative.

Here OMEGA has really succeeded in balancing vintage and modernity. The matte black dial is sandblasted aluminium, and the hands are made in PVD 18K Bronze Gold, which harmonises with the case. The indices are black and filled with vintage Super-LumiNova, which gives a nice contrast against the dial. Even the OMEGA logo and the text on the dial are coloured in a light brown tone to match the whole.
The burgundy-coloured bezel really gives the watch a depth. It is a detail that lifts the whole aesthetic and makes it feel unique compared with earlier Seamaster models.
Both models are driven by OMEGA's Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8806. That means that they are METAS-certified, have high precision and a substantial resistance to magnetic fields. The movement is visible through the sapphire crystal on the back, which is always a pleasant touch on a diver's watch.

OMEGA has really succeeded in creating a luxurious version of the Seamaster Diver 300M without compromising on the sporty diver's watch feel. The combination of Bronze Gold and burgundy makes it stand out in a sophisticated way.
Which of the two is best? That depends on preferences. If you want a tool watch with an elegant twist the rubber strap is the right choice. If you want something that feels extra luxurious and stands out even more, then the mesh bracelet is the obvious alternative.
The Swedish list price is 183 800 kronor on the rubber strap and 369 000 kronor on the mesh bracelet.
