With a lovely retro feelign a curiosity is awakened for Certina's latest addition DS-7 Powermatic 80. This is a watch that stands out extra much with its strong colour. The popularity of eye-catching colours on the dials keeps growing something that Certina has seized the opportunity and captured. We have taken a closer look at their new DS-7 with a turquoise dial.

That so-called ”Tiffany colour” really picked up speed within the watch industry a while ago and it is still very trendy. Besides, the colour is very fun to combine with different cool outfits, both sporty and dressed up. The case is in steel in the size 39 mm with a height of 9,94 mm, it is substantial but still not too big to suit most wrists.

The dial has a nice finish that gives a delicious lustre and the turquoise colour becomes extra delicious when the light strikes it. The DS-7 model is also available with other colours on the dial which may suit those looking for a more sophisticated style. Turquoise in particular is above all for the person who loves colours and who gladly lets their watch assert itself in terms of both colour and style. The watch shows hours, minutes and seconds as well as the date which is shown through a window at 3 o'clock. Apart from that it is a clean dial where you also see Certina's logo at the top and below it also the name of the model where it says DS Powermatic 80. Of course it also has luminous Super-LumiNova on the indexes and hands, an important detail that belongs to this type of sports watch.

The watch has an automatic movement, Powermatic 80.611, which has an antimagnetic hairspring in Nivachron and the movement has a power reserve of up to 80 hours. The calibre is made by the movement company ETA which is a large supplier of movements to many watch brands and both Certina and ETA are owned by Swatch Group. Nice too is that the watch has an open back where you can see the movement.

Retro style on a watch can never go wrong. It is enormously timeless and for a sports watch in steel a delicious colour makes it nice in a simple way. Details such as the integrated steel bracelet and the combination of brushed and polished surface give a good balance. Here they have also chosen to polish the middle parts of the bracelet which fits well together with the case, which also has the bottom edge of the case ring mirror polished, as is the crown, which is moreover engraved with DS.

Good to keep in mind is that the bracelet is more of the slim sort and thus not so wide. It is therefore good to try this model before deciding on the lugs, because the bracelet's attachments have a more straight line seen from the side so on some wrists they can become too straight. My advice is to try it so that the watch sits well and comfortably on your own wrist. The clasp on the bracelet has a Certina engraving and the bracelet also has a smooth three-step fastening.
In summary you can say that this is a pleasant watch in clean-lined retro design that is perfect for everyday and which moreover has a really good price which is 9 990 kronor.
