Yesterday (17 November) came the decision that the fair Watches & Wonders in Geneva next year will be digital. The organisation writes in its press release: ”Against the background of the uncertainty in the current pandemic, the exhibitor committee for Watches & Wonders has taken the decision not to arrange the physical salon from 7 to 13 April 2021”.
The organisers also announce that new services and functions will be presented and that: ”The new salon shall welcome new participants and become the biggest watch event in the history of the city of Geneva with the following confirmed participants: A.Lange & Söhne, Armin Ström, Arnold & Son, Baume & Mercier, Bovet, Cartier, Chanel, Chopard, Fabergé, Ferdinand Berthoud, Girard-Perregaux,H. Moser & Cie, Hemès, HYT, IWC Schaffhausen, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Laurent Ferrier, MB&F, Mont Blanc, Panerai, Parmigiani, Patek Philippe, Piaget, Purnell, Rebellion Timepieces, Ressence, Rolex, Roger Dubuis, Rudis Sylva, Speake Marin, Tudor and Ulysse Nardin.”

Who may additionally come to take part we will get to know later. It may well be that Tiffany's comes since Richemont has now after a few twists managed the feat of buying them…
It is of course drery that there will be no traditional fair next year but it still feels like a wise decision.
