Tudor celebrates its racing heritage with a new version of its popular chronograph – the Black Bay Chrono ”Carbon 25”. A technical and aesthetic powerhouse where carbon fibre is at the centre. This is no ordinary Black Bay Chrono. The new model marks a bold direction for Tudor, where lightweight materials, motorsport DNA and advanced technology meet in a limited edition of 2025 examples – a nod to this year's Formula 1 season and the brand's partnership with Visa Cash App Racing Bulls.

The case is made entirely of carbon fibre – including the end links on the bracelet – which not only reduces the weight but also gives the watch a distinctly modern look. The bezel, also in carbon fibre, is fixed and is adorned with a tachymeter scale, ready for the track. The pushers, on the other hand, are in titanium with a PVD coating, inspired by Tudor's very first chronographs. The case back is also in PVD-treated titanium and individually numbered.
The dial, which Tudor calls ”racing white”, is gently domed with carbon-fibre-patterned sub-dials and snowflake hands filled with Grade A Super-LumiNova. These are details that both reflect Tudor's diving history and the raw aesthetic of motorsport.

Inside sits Tudor's Manufacture Calibre MT5813 – a chronograph with based on Breitling's B01. The COSC-certified movement offers 70 hours of power reserve, a silicon hairspring and a precision of -2/+4 seconds per day – clearly above the requirements from COSC. Robust and reliable.

42 mm in diameter may sound a little big, but the newly developed case is slimmer than earlier Black Bay Chrono in steel and looks, in our view, more balanced on the wrist. The bracelet is a hybrid strap in leather and rubber with carbon fibre ends and a tyre pattern – a fun detail that reinforces the connection to motorsport even further.

The Black Bay Chrono ”Carbon 25” is not only a tribute to Tudor's racing roots. An uncompromising watch for enthusiasts who appreciate both history and innovation.
Price? Around 6 800 CHF. Limited to 2025 examples. We suspect it will not take long before these are gone from the shelves.
