Cubitus – Patek Philippe's new collection stirs strong reactions
A few days ago an image leaked showing a square new watch from Patek Phillippe. The speculation took off and now the news is out, Patek is going big and square. The reactions have been divided to say the least since Patek released its new collection, Cubitus.

A few days ago a picture that showed a square new watch from Patek Phillippe leeked. The speculations took off and now the news is released, Patek is betting on big and square.
The reactions have to say the least been divided when Patek released its new collection, Cubitus. Commentes such as ”Cartier Santos rip-off” and ”Apple watch shell” have hailed down on social media, but there have also come positive reactions that praise Patek for a brave design. Apart from the square design most reactions seem to be about the size of the watch. Cubitus measures a whole 45 mm and that feels to say the least big, especially considering that more brands have cut down on the sizes of their models.
The collection comes in three different versions, Cubitus Grande Date, Cubitus in two-tone (rose gold and steel) with a blue dial and a steel version with a green dial. Grande Date has several functions, such as moon phase, day and date function and sub-seconds hand. The watch is made in platinum and the indices are in white gold. The two-tone and the steel version of Cubitus have the same specifications in the measurements as the Grand Date, but only have time and date functions.
Like the reactions on social media the editorial team is divided in our first verdict of the watch, but it will be very interesting and see how it sits on the arm, we wait with excitement to get to try it going forward.
