Cocky Aventi launches new model in innovative material
Eqotime has taken a look at the new Tudor Ranger, a watch with a solid history tested under tough conditions.

Today Aventi launches a new model in a their own developed material, Saphite™. In collaboration with this breath of fresh air on the market we take a closer look at their latest model, the A15-01 Wraith which is equipped with a swiss-made tourbillon movement in a complicated case made in sapphire crystal.

Aventi is not for everyone, something they are aware of themselves and which is part of their communication. Something for the person looking for something out of the ordinary. A watch with attitude.
No watchmakers, no offices, no factory, Aventi does things differently quite simply. Through a team that is based in different countries and cities around the world they have managed to organise experts within different areas in order to develop a product that holds a very high standard.

Innovative materials
Working with cases in sapphire has been one of Aventi's hallmarks since the brand was founded and with their latest model they take a further step in the development of new and innovative materials. Saphite™ stands up to scratches better and has a higher clarity than "ordinary" sapphire crystal. Its refractive index is set at 1,65 compared with 1,76 for traditional sapphire crystal, which gives a higher clarity and is also less prone to optical deformation.
Saphite™ can unlike ordinary sapphire crystal also be coloured in an infinite number of different shades, which gave rise to this turquoise colour, which naturally is only found in tourmaline stones from the Paraiba region in Brazil.

The case is complex, 124 edges and 92 facets, and measures 44 x 49mm with a thickness of 14,5mm. It is no small watch, but we are nonetheless impressive by the craftsmanship and the undersigned has experienced earlier models live. Making high-quality and well-finished cases in sapphire crystal is rarely something you see at smaller brands and above all not with a price tag far below the big players such as Richard Mille and Hublot who have been leading in the field.
Heart from Switzerland
Abraham Louis Breguet invented the tourbillon a good 220 years ago and Aventi has reworked the tourbillon's construction from the ground up, they have more than halved the number of components from the traditional 40 down to 18 pieces. With fewer components they mean that you can achieve a better stability when it comes to among other things timekeeping.

The movement, the GT-01S, is entirely made in Grade 5 titanium where the base is supplied by their partner TEC Ebauches. Each component is then finished with techniques such as anglage, perlage and bevelling. The movement's 63 components are then assembled in La Chaux-de-fonds in Switzerland. Each movement is then inspected and calibrated by master watchmaker Olivier Mory.
Skeletonised dial with hands in sapphire crystal
The dial is also well worked and skeletonised with very high demands on finishing. Each dial is polished, engraved with a hobnail-guilloche pattern, lacquered with DLC and then laser-engraved with over 100 lines that are then filled with Super-LumiNova.
The hands too are made of sapphire crystal and go through a process where each hand is made with the help of tools that have a tolerance of 0,02mm. They are then polished by hand in two steps before Super-LumiNova is applied. There are not many brands that offer hands made in sapphire crystal.
