Making a smaller model of the PRX with an ice blue dial is an ingenious move by Tissot. The PRX models are immensely popular and the one with the ice blue and the one with the gold-coloured dial are the ones that stand out the very most, and they are now being launched in 35mm size with an automatic movement, and the gold-coloured variant can now also be found with an automatic movement in both 35 and 40mm.

Tissot have not overcomplicated it, here it is simplicity that wins in the long run. The case and bracelet are in steel and the watch has an automatic movement that is an updated ETA 2824-2, which at Tissot is called Powermatic 80 and which we recognise well from several of the other models in the collection. What above all stands out with this movement is that it is equipped with an antimagnetic Nivachron balance spring and has a power reserve of up to 80 hrs. What is also fun is that the case has an open caseback so you can see the movement and the rotor rotating.

The ice blue colour of the dial is something quite special, and what does a lot to make it so becoming is the waffled surface, so-called tapisserie, which reflects the light in a pleasant and very handsome way. Had the dial been completely smooth and unpatterned it would not have had the same effect, but would instead have come across as lifeless and flat. Precisely the combination of ice blue tapisserie pattern with a case and link in brushed steel for cool sports watches feels very right for the times. The functions are hours, minutes and seconds as well as the date, which is shown in a window at 3 o'clock. On the indices and hands there is Super-LumiNova.

The colour is very trendy right now and it is positive that they did not follow the turquoise trend like many others. If you like to break up your outfit with colours, this one is perfect to have if you otherwise perhaps wear watches in a very classic, dressed-up style. Besides, it is nice to wear a hard-wearing steel sports watch, water resistant to 100 m, during the summer when you happily go about in short sleeves, a watch which moreover you do not have to worry about wearing, thanks to its advantageous price, considering the risk of robbery.

The watch does really well in the smaller size with a case of 35 mm in diameter and a height of 10.9mm, which gives very handsome proportions. Because with the shape of its case as well as the integrated bracelet it takes up a lot of room in size on the wrist, and 40 mm becomes too big on daintier wrists, which you can see in the picture where the one in gold PVD takes over on slimmer wrists.

The smaller size sits well on the wrist and it is not that heavy to wear either. The test watch's link was somewhat too long at the time of testing, but if you shorten the link to fit your wrist so that it does not sit loosely it can become really comfortable to wear, thanks to the fact that the case sits so well on the wrist and the lugs are well shaped to the wrist. The clasp moreover has an easy-to-handle triple fastening.

The Tissot PRX in 35mm with an automatic movement feels like the coolest sports watch for daintier wrists in this price bracket. It is handsome, cool and above all good value.
