Eqotime has been on a visit to Fredmans Ur who are the only authorised retailer in Sweden of the classic brand DOXA. With summer around the corner it is time to check out some colourful divers that are perfectly suited to the summer's activities.
DOXA are known for their legendary diver's watches from the end of the 1960s, and have a rich history dating all the way back to 1889. In enthusiast circles the brand has long been popular, and now there is finally a shop where you can try the watches on your arm. In collaboration with Fredmans Ur we have taken a closer look at a good number of watches that are in the shop, and you can of course order from the whole range through them.

DOXA SUB 300
Let us start with their most popular model – SUB 300. The model was launched in 1967 and made a comeback in 2020. It is true to the original with its case of 42.5mm x 45mm with a thickness of 13.4mm in stainless steel, the bezel that measures both time and depth and the iconic ”beads of rice” bracelet.

The watch is water resistant down to 300m, has a sapphire crystal that has the same shape as the original's domed plexiglass and an automatic movement with 38h power reserve.
Available in 6 different colours and it can be had on a bracelet or rubber with a folding clasp with diver's extension.
The price for the SUB 300 starts at 28,490kr on a rubber strap and 28,990kr on a bracelet. Discover all the versions at Fredmans Ur here.

DOXA SUB 300T
The SUB 300T is similar to the SUB 300 with a couple of changes. The model was relaunched in 2019 and is a tribute to the SUB 300T Conquistador that was launched in 1968.
What separates the SUB 300T from the SUB 300 is among other things the water resistance where the SUB 300T is water resistant all the way down to 1200m. The case has the same dimensions as the SUB 300 but is 0.6mm thicker, which means a total thickness of 14mm.

The difference is clearest from the side where the SUB 300T is fitted with a ”helium release valve”.
The prices for the SUB 300T start at 21,490kr on a rubber strap and 21,990kr on a bracelet and you can see all the available models here.

DOXA SUB 300 Carbon
Fredmans Ur also have a limited edition of the SUB 300 in stock – namely the Aqua Lung US Divers in carbon fibre. The model was developed in collaboration with Aqua Lung, an American company that manufactures diving equipment.
The case is true to the original and to its siblings in the series when it comes to the dimensions of the case. But thanks to it being made in carbon fibre and having a case back and inner case in titanium, it becomes a full 40% lighter than its siblings in steel (case only, without rubber strap and folding clasp).

DOXA SUB 200
The SUB 200 is the entry model in DOXA’s range. Water resistant down to 200m as the name gives away and in a stainless steel case of 42mm x 46mm with a thickness of 13.8mm.
The model comes in 6 different colours and is available both on a bracelet and on a rubber strap. This is really a good-value watch that is available in a range of fun colours and that is perfectly suited to the summer's activities.
The price for the SUB 200 is 11,090kr on a rubber strap and 11,490kr on a bracelet. See the whole range here.

DOXA SUB 200 C-Graph
The SUB 200 C-Graph combines a diver's watch and a chronograph. The size is beefier than its sibling and the chronograph measures 45mm x 49mm with a thickness of 17.25mm.
The model is found with 6 different dials, from sober in black, blue and silver to the colourful versions in turquoise, yellow and orange.
The prices start at 28,590kr for the model on a rubber strap and 28,990kr on a bracelet. The whole range can be found here.

DOXA SUB 200 T.Graph
Yet another limited edition which is a two-register chronograph true to the original that was introduced in 1969. Here they use the same movement as the original, that is Valjoux's workhorse 7734. The movements, which were manufactured over 30 years ago, have of course been gone through and freshened up by DOXA’s watchmakers before they found their way into this limited edition of 300 pieces.
The case measures 43mm x 46mm and has a thickness of 15mm and is water resistant down to 200m.
The watch is available both on a rubber strap and a bracelet and costs 56,490 and 56,990kr respectively and you can read more here.

DOXA SUB 600T
This model is available in a full 28 different combinations. 7 dial colours, rubber strap or bracelet plus a bezel entirely in steel or with a ceramic insert. It is an icon from the 1980s in a modern guise. The watch has the smallest diameter in the whole family and measures 40mm x 47.6mm with a thickness of 14.15mm. Like the other watches from the collection it is driven by an automatic movement and is water resistant down to 600m.
The bracelet is three-piece and entirely brushed in finish, unlike the other models' ”beads of rice” bracelet.
The prices start from 15,490kr up to 17,460kr depending on the version. See all the combinations here.

DOXA SUB 1500T
Last out is the beast, the SUB 1500T is water resistant down to a full 1500m and is an homage to the SUB 300T Conquistador from 1968. Like its predecessor the SUB 1500T has a ”helium relief valve” which makes it possible for it to stay water resistant all the way down to 1500m.
It is not a small watch, 45 x 47mm with a thickness of 16mm means that it demands its wrist and it is a true diver's watch in every sense.
The watch is available in 7 different colours and either on a rubber strap or a bracelet and costs 27,290kr and 27,790kr respectively.
